The Planet Earth is a planet in the solar system whose native sapient species included the human race and the Silurians. The twin planet of Mondas, it was the third planet from its sun and therefore also known as sol 3.

John Lumic, CEO of Cybus Industries created a new life support system known as the Cybermen. After being driven to insanity he assassinated the President and began forcibly upgrading the population. This was stopped by the traveller known as the Doctor.

Former President Harriet Jones struggled with the ethical dilemma of the surviving Cybermen resulting in an invasion of Torchwood and their disappearance into the void.

THE STARS
During the incident with the Reality Bomb, UNIT noticed an anomaly with the stars, they were going out. With the help of Torchwood and Rose Tyler, they were able to create a dimension cannon to help stop this threat.

POPULATION SWAP
As an attempt by an unknown threat to destroy the Earth, the population of humans on the planet was replaced systematically by andriods carrying bombs. This invasion was halted by Torchwood's scientific advisor the Doctor.

WAR OF OMEGA
Seeingly out of nowhere the weather on the planet changed dramatically and the UK was suddenly overthrown by an alien known as Omega and his gel guards. The population of London was enslaved to build a rocket. Other nations couldn't succeed in stopping him. Ultimately Omega left in his rocket never to return leaving Earth in a weather crisis from which they still haven't recovered.
